Claude Chaney & Friends - Feels So Bad (The Bush Years)

Feels So Bad (The Bush Years)
by Claude Chaney (c) 2008 New Continuum Music Co.

Easy for one without your problem to give you advice
Easy for one with more than he needs to tell you to sacrifice
Feels so bad, drives me bad, it's so sad
to see the years of progress come undone
and see the fat cats having so much fun
and find the battles only just begun

Affirmative action fair play and compassion eroding away
The wealthy get takes breaks, the poor get more heartache
the middle class pay
Feels so bad, drives me mad, it's so sad
People's programs just cannot be saved
Roosevelt is turning over in his grave
We're living in a very different age

It's to the right the winds are blowing
Resistance is small, but I feel it growing
Status-quo is strong and all the while knowing
the big fish gets big by eating the little one

The Iraqi war that we're paying for was surely based on a lie
Just one senator with the courage to ask this president why
Say no more we're headed for another war
unless the people wise up and insist
we cannot not go on living like this
Do checks and balances really exist

Feels so bad, drives me mad, it's so sad
to see the years of progress come undone
and see the fat cats having so much fun
and find the battles only just begun
